Every year, thousands of lives are saved by

individuals trained by instructors of the American Heart Association. 

CPR certification through the American Heart Associations is a requirement for employees of hospitals and nursing facilities.  Nursing students need AHA cpr certification before clinicals.

 

 

Heartsaver is mainly for non-healthcare individuals.

The training involves CPR, AED, and First Aid. 

 

Basic Life Support (BLS) comprises of all of the

components of Heartsaver and extra training for healthcare professionals. 

 

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) combines BLS 

with airway management, and it is a good training for respiratory therapists, nurses, and physicians. Pediatric Advanced

Life Support (PALS) is geared toward the management of critical life support for pediatric patients.
